Honda LCR Team officially hooked Johann Zarco to undergo the remaining three races of the 2019 MotoGP in Australia, Malaysia, and Valencia. This tantalizing offer came from team manager Lucio Cecchinello after Takaaki Nakagami’s contract ended prematurely this season.

“An amazing opportunity to have the last few races of the season on a Honda LCR. I’m grateful to have this opportunity, and I will do my best to take some good results and enjoy the time because this could be the last three races that can I do for a while, “Zarco said quoted from the official page of the Honda LCR, Wednesday (10/16/2019).

For your information, Zarco last September left KTM after the Austrian team decided to work together for the rest of the season. Director of KTM Motosport, Pit Breier, said that he had decided on making the best use of available resources and taking positive steps for team development.

Zarco benefited from the termination of the contract. He claimed to thank KTM for freeing him so that he could do this race with another motorbike.

“Let’s see what I can do. First of all, I know that I will enjoy the Phillip Island track, this is a fast circuit and I think the feeling can be good. We will cross our fingers, and we will see what might happen. “The goal is to drive at a good speed, and rediscover the good feelings I have had before,” Zarco added.

Elsewhere, Lucio Cecchinello regretted the decision to terminate Nakagami’s contract. However, there is no other choice considering the Japanese driver suffered a shoulder injury and was forced to miss three races.

\”I proposed to HRC Director Tetsuhiro Kuwata and Team Manager Alberto Puig the idea of involving Zarco as our substitute driver and they gave me approval. When I contacted Zarco, he immediately showed interest and together we worked on every step of this project that would end in “From our side, we will ensure maximum efforts to support Johann, a racer who has demonstrated exceptional talent and professionalism in his racing career,” added Cecchinello.
