Injuries can happen to anyone – even when you carry a beefed-up body like Dwayne Johnson, aka ‘The Rock’. Moreover, if you are indulged in a sport like Professional wrestling or UFC, your chances of sustaining an injury are higher.
On Thursday night, the ‘most electrifying man in the history of sports entertainment’ shared one such incident from his WWE days on Instagram. The post briefly mentioned Dwayne johnson’s pain and agony throughout this herculean battle against UFC Hall of Famer, Ken Shamrock.
The Rock further talked about the damage done to his blood vessels during the match and how he still kept on going while keeping his composure. The post reads as :
“Not the most elegant or sexy #throwbackthursday back when I had a lil’ internal bleeding (not planned) while wrestling @UFC Hall Of Famer, @kenshamrockofficial aka “The World’s Most Dangerous Man”.
I loved wrestling Kenny around the world and we had some classic matches.
On this night I took a hard suplex and the impact damaged blood vessels in my lungs causing the blood to come up.
Kept composed, made sure I could breath and continued with the match.
I’d like to think Ken would’ve shown me some compassion, but his facial expression says “fuck your bleeding lungs” as he tries to rip my ankle from my tibia
😂🦶🏾🩸
These were good days and this was how I proudly made my bones.
As always, “thank you for the house”, brother 👊🏾🥃”
The former WWE champion also mentioned Ken shamrock’s ruthlessness during this epic battle. As indicated in the post, Ken didn’t show any mercy to Rock’s pain and suffering. Nonetheless, the Brahma bull held his nerves during the entire match and took it to the wire.

You don’t get a nickname like ‘The Rock’ just like that and Dwayne Johnson has proved this fact time and again during his WWE career. Being one of the most iconic WWE superstars of all time, he has come through a list of injuries on the course of his highly celebrated career.
The people’s champion has so far undergone four knee surgeries, a Torn quadricep off his pelvis, a Torn adductor off his pelvis, a Triple hernia surgery, a Ruptured Achilles’ tendon, a full shoulder reconstruction, 3 low back disc herniations, and 2 low back disc ruptures.
The Rock shared all these details in one of another post on Instagram. According to him, ‘Even though I look like a wounded, passed out drunk buffalo 🦬 laying face down in prairies – can’t tell ya how grateful I am for these quiet healing/recovery moments”
‘The Great one’ further added that this comes as a daily reminder that we only have one body, and we must take care of it by every means possible.
Right from every horrific stunt in the WWE ring to those performed in his Blockbuster movies, Johnson has lived to his image of a ‘tough’ man, time and again. This comes as one of the many reasons why he is so loved and cherished across his global fanbase.
Hopefully, we can see this ‘People’s Champion’ carrying on with his legacy for some more years without further injury concerns.
