Winning the 2019 MotoGP Title, Honda Extends Marc Marquez’s Contract
Marc Marquez seems to be a longer Honda racer. After winning the 2019 MotoGP championship, Marquez is rumored to be bound by the wing logo team until 2022.
Marquez’s contract will actually expire in 2020. However, before the contract expires Honda is informed that it will soon offer a new contract.
“From our side, we will do everything in our power to ensure Marc feels comfortable with us and does not think to leave,” Honda team manager Alberto Puig was quoted as saying by Motorsport on Tuesday (10/08/2019).
The determination to defend Marquez is very clear considering the racer so far has given high achievements. In fact, Honda President Yoshishige Nomura has given a signal to Marquez to seal the title this year in Thailand and not have to wait for a series at home to Honda.
What is the value of Marquez’s new contract later? Honda hasn’t leaked it yet. Surely Marquez’s income will increase more than the previous contract. As an illustration Marquez gets paid 14 Million Euros or equivalent to Rp 217 Billion.
