#1 Boston Celtics – 17 NBA Titles

Boston Celtics are the number one team that has 17 NBA titles in its portfolio. The team has been in the NBA since the inception of the games in 1946. Following is the list of the year in which they have won the titles. The first year they won the title was 1957, and the recent one was in 2008. 

Years of Championships: 1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986, 2008 

#1 Los Angeles Lakers

Are you a little confused seeing the number one tag alongside Los Angeles Lakers? Well, don’t be. The Lakers deserve the title as they have won an equal number of championships as the Celtics. The Lakers were previously called Minneapolis Lakers before leaving the city and becoming Los Angeles Lakers. They have won 17 NBA titles so far now. 

The recent victory they got was in the NBA 2019-20 regular season, which ended last month. 

Years of Championships: 1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1972, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010, 2020

#2 Golden State Warriors

The third team in the NBA titles list the Golden State Warriors. Although they do not have double-digit titles under the belt, they still are ahead of other franchises. The Golden State Warriors have six titles so far. It appears that the 2010s were lucky for them, as they won three titles in the last decade. Before that, they succeeded in the 70s.

#2 Chicago Bulls

Michael Jordan was an iconic player, whenever the Chicago Bulls’ name comes up, we can’t stop but think of him. He played 15 seasons and got the Bulls six championships. However, the Bulls were not that lucky before MJ, since their founding in 1966 they won the first-ever title in 1991.

You can see that they dominated the entire decade of the 90s single-handedly with exceptions of ‘94, ‘95 and ‘99.

Baseball – Professional Team With Most Titles

The game of Baseball is another popular game in the United States that has an aura of its own. It is the oldest professional baseball league in the United States and Canada. It was founded in 1869 in Cincinnati, Ohio. There are 30 teams in MLB, 15 play in the National League and remaining in American League. 

The 29 teams are from the States, while one team Toronto Blue Jays is from Canada. Following are the two teams that have most championships under their portfolio.

The New York Yankees is the first team in the MLB that holds the record for most titles. Unlike the Boston Celtics, it doesn’t have to share the title number with other teams. The Yankees team was founded in 1903, making it more than a hundred years old. Since their inception, New York Yankees have won 27 championships. The first was won in 1923 and the recent one in 2009.

The St. Louis Cardinals come in second position in the record. The team is older than its rival Yankees. It was established in 1882. Though it took them quite a time to win the first title, they have won 11 titles so far. The recent one was earned in 2011.
