Valentino Rossi completed the free training session on day one with a good feeling. Of the two sessions (FP1 and FP2) that have been undertaken, the Monster Energy Yamaha team racer successfully locked the record time of 1 minute 33.3370 seconds, Friday (9/13) yesterday. He said the M1 motorcycle felt very fast and seemed to be very competitive mounts on the Misano Circuit.

“Yamaha feels fast with different configurations between us and the Petronas team. It looks like our motorbike is very competitive, we have good grip and acceleration. This is very potential,” Rossi was quoted as saying on Yamaha’s official website on Saturday (9/14).

Since the beginning, Rossi was actually very motivated to pave the Misano Circuit. This is because the fans have already filled the stands to watch local heroes in action.

Unfortunately, the racer nicknamed The Doctor had a lot in the morning session (FP1), focusing on confirming feedback on the test items used on the Misano Test, Rossi was finally only able to lock the ninth place with a difference of 1,029 seconds from Fabio Quartararo.

On FP2, Rossi has a goal to control his position in the afternoon. The owner of number 46 felt motivated by the cheers of fans, both in the paddock and from the stands, he found a way to climb up to fourth in FP2.

“For me personally, we still have a lot of work to do, because I don’t feel fantastic with balance and arrangements. I need a better grip, but a good Friday and having all the Yamahas upfront is very good, so we will try to continue like this, “Rossi added.
