Unai Emery tried wisely ahead of the match against Vitoria Guimaraes on the 2019 Europa League

Arsenal coach Unai Emery tried wisely ahead of the match against Vitoria Guimaraes in the 2019 Europa League stage. Emery tried to win the hearts of the Gunners fans by saying he received all criticism from fans.

Before the home match at the Emirates Stadium on Friday (10/25/2019), Emery received harsh criticism because Arsenal lost to Sheffield United in the English Premier League. Over the defeat, Arsenal failed to crawl into the top three standings.

“In my career, it is normal to experience difficult times and criticism for my work. We are from one perspective. Opinions of supporters … we must accept that,” he said reported by Reuters on Thursday (10/24/2019).

“We lost a huge opportunity in the Premier League to move up to third place in the standings. We are fifth and have a chance on Sunday. We have to get better but this is a process,” he continued.

“We need to think about how we can progress and reach our targets. Right away, we want to immediately win the match (against Guimaraes). In this competition, we won two matches and played very well with very good results.”

Currently, Arsenal is top of Group F with six points from two matches. Emery believes a positive performance against the bottom team without a win will help them when they host Crystal Palace this weekend.

“We respect Guimaraes. They are fourth in the standings (Portuguese League) and a good team, a competitive team. We expect a difficult match,” said Emery.

“Against Eintracht Frankfurt and Standard Liege, our performance was good and had a good idea in how we created and found ways to play aggressively, solidly and very well both defending and attacking,” concluded Emery.
