Unable to Chase Marquez, Dovizioso Finally Surrenders

 

Andrea Dovizioso finally raised the white flag. The hope of the Winnow Ducati racer to become the 2019 MotoGP world champion has vanished.

Dovi, Dovizioso’s nickname, claimed to have given up competing with Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez. Marquez’s victory at the San Marino Grand Prix last weekend was one of the reasons he chose to forget his dream of becoming a MotoGP world champion this year.

Moreover, Dovizioso was only able to occupy the sixth position in the race. Because the Ducati motorbike that he rode did not run according to his expectations. With that result, Dovizioso is falling further behind in the 2019 MotoGP standings.

Currently, he is still ranked second by collecting 182 points or 93 points behind Marquez. Despite still leaving six races, Dovi admitted it was very difficult to catch Marquez at the top. “There is no need to fly the white flag,” Dovizioso was reported by motorsports.

“The difference is already big, so we can only try and bring it back to the maximum. But, we cannot talk about trying to catch up if we finish behind in the race, “he said.

Dovi deserves to be pessimistic about his hopes of winning the title this year. Because Marquez appeared extraordinary throughout this season. Of the 13 races, he only failed to finish once that happened in Austin. The rest are always on the podium, including winning seven wins.
