McGregor is preparing for his next fight, which will be on January 18 against Donald Cerrone in UFC 246. He has much to gain, since a victory would surely place him again to fight for the title, but also much to lose since a defeat would be fatal. Therefore, he is doing everything to succeed. As also the “Cowboy.”
Conor McGregor at UFC 246
Recently, his boxing coach, Owen Roddy, on the Euro bash podcast has talked about how he is at the moment.
“Right now we are in the camp. The only thing Conor has been doing is working his strength and conditioning. It stays in shape and is eating well. I am very excited to return to work with him and have returned to the UFC.
“The last camp was a little different. We didn’t know what time we were going to train. Sometimes so late at night, sometimes so early in the morning. I don’t think that was good.
“We are training at 11 and 7 every day. Everything is being perfect. Strength, conditioning and technique. And we can see that he is reaping the benefits. It is in top form and now we are focusing on the game plan. Devising a good plan, entering and executing it.
“I think it’s great to see Conor enjoy what he’s doing. It is good for me, for everyone and also for Conor. He has had a couple of crazy years. He has many businesses. I have one here and it is 24/7. He has a lot of things working and it is chaos.
“Now he is doing what he likes to do again. When we begin to see images of their workouts, their interviews and so on, everyone will see old Conor again. When they see it they will say: ‘This is the Conor we fell in love with’. Conor is hungry again. A hungry, dedicated and motivated Conor is a scary guy.”
