Conor McGregor defended the Brazilian for trying a career in a new division.
In response to a comment by Ariel Helwani, who questioned Aldo’s physical appearance, the Irish praised his former rival.
“I disagree. He seems very good, in my opinion, with experience. He is well physically before the fight, and naturally, he is a lighterman now. That can be done over a long period with total dedication. Respect! I wish congratulations and I am encouraged to see you in this new division,” Conor wrote.
The first one is very troubling. Still don’t understand why Aldo is doing this. https://t.co/umFz4n6f7G

McGregor was the person who finished Aldo’s reign at UFC 194, after months of provocations, the Irish surprised the world and knocked out the Brazilian in just 13 seconds.
After that great fact, Conor devoted himself as the great star of the organization, including, rose decision and won the light belt. When the Irishman was at his best, the Brazilian went through a regular phase where he recovered the feather belt. But he was knocked out by Max Holloway in his first defense.
Aldo tried to regain his place in the rematch with Holloway, but lost again, after the strong boxing of the Hawaiian who knocked him out in the third round, at UFC 218.
Currently, McGregor has no UFC belt. The Irishman has not seen any action since Khabib Nurmagomedov finished him in the stellar UFC 229. After a year out, Conor confirmed his return to Donald Cerrone in the stellar UFC 246.
Aldo will debut in his new division at UFC 245. Where he will face the former challenger of the division, Marlon Moraes, who seeks revenge against Henry Cejudo.
