Max Holloway has never hidden his desire to have a rematch against Conor McGregor. When they fought the first time, back in 2013, they were both very different from what they are now. We dare to say that it would be a very different fight. At the same time, the UFC Featherweight World Champion has never been critical of the Irish, not at least as noticeably as other rivals or teammates.
Max Holloway defends Conor McGregor
And precisely now he defends it from those who criticize him. The Hawaiian commented this to MMA Fighting:
“I understand that everything he does and says is for the business. But it has never become anything personally. He has never crossed that line. That’s what I respect about him. We can have discussions, but it’s all about business. We never go beyond that.
“When my fight against Khabib was canceled, everyone was talking about it, but he contacted me to ask me how I was doing. He also did it when Brian (Ortega) and Frankie (Edgar). He showed me his support. It has a heart. It is human, like all of us. He did some wrong things, but he is human.”
