After victory in UFC 244, Jorge Masvidal remains in the third position in the ranking

The Cuban Jorge Masvidal lived the most important night of his career after starring in one of the most anticipated events of the year, at UFC 244.

“Gamebred” faced Nate Diaz, despite looking good, the fight did not have the end that many expected.

Díaz could not continue the fight after a cut in the face. Jorge’s great performance was not enough to raise his position in the ranking of the division.

Jorge is still in the third position of the ranking, which today is dominated by Kamaru Usman. Although his position was not altered, the focus of the fight was not a better position, a symbolic belt created by the organization especially for UFC 244.

Without a belt in play in a numbered edition, there was The Rock, the champions Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman, until the president of the United States, Donald Trump. As an event, it had a positive balance.

Back in real life, the defeat with Jorge was not positive for Nate.

In addition to not conquering the “BMF” belt, the American fell two positions, being overtaken by Stephen Thompson and Santiago Ponzinibbio.

Masvidal, for his part, is focused on being the next challenger to the belt, he could face Colby Covington or former champion, Tyron Woodley.

Chilean-born Brazilian Vicente Luque was the only Brazilian with reasons to smile after UFC 244

The welter lost the former challenger to the belt, Stephen Thompson, but climbed a position.

The fight between the Brazilian and the American was of many exchanges, after three rounds, the judges gave Thompson the winner.

At the end of the event, UFC decided that the fight won the “Fight of the Night” prize, which gave it a prize of $ 50,000 for each.
