Francis Ngannou took to Twitter to hit back at Jon Jones. The current heavyweight champ had some shots of his own after Jones’s warning earlier today.
Previously, Ngannou earned the heavyweight title with a knockout win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 260. The bout was a rematch of their UFC 220 fight. Thereafter, Ngannou was opted to fight Derrick Lewis or Jon Jones next.
“You’re a decision fighter @JonnyBones and you’ve barely won a fight lately”. Francis hit back at Jones following the latter’s threats. The altercation comes as a surprise as many felt that the two fighters were on good terms.

But you're going to break me out 😂— Francis Ngannou (@francis_ngannou) May 1, 2021
Ngannou called Jones a ‘decision fighter’ in his reply to the former light heavyweight champ. Jones has won 10 out of his 21 fights in the UFC by Unanimous or Split decision. Eventually, Jones is not a happy man after being labeled as that such in a disrespectful manner.
A decision fighter? I carried the record for most submissions in the light heavyweight division for many years my friend. You are what we call a one trick pony @francis_ngannou every champion I’ve ever faced punched hard. I see right through you

Moreover, Derrick Lewis revealed earlier this week that a fight with Ngannou is all but confirmed. As such, it is possible that this news has possibly upset Jones, who was keen on fighting Ngannou. Recently, Jones has also parted ways with his management team, possibly for failing to acquire a fight with Francis.

Is Francis Ngannou Right About Jon Jones?
Talking about Ngannou’s claims that Jones is a decision fighter, Jones’s last three fights have gone to a decision. His last knockout victory was against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 on Dec. 29, 2018. His last submission victory dates even further back, to Vitor Belfort at UFC 152 on Sep.23, 2012.

Recently, Jones took time off to gain weight for his move to heavyweight. As a result, he hasn’t fought in over a year with his last fight a unanimous decision victory over Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 on Feb. 8, 2020.
Interestingly, ‘The Predator ‘ has not yet ruled out a fight with ‘Bones’. He has reiterated time and again that he is willing to take on Jones in the future. Furthermore, he shares Jon’s sentiments regarding a ‘mega-pay ‘ fight.
