Rob Font enjoyed a victorious night out at UFC Vegas 27. Following a unanimous decision win over Cody Garbrandt, Font is now ready for a conversation regarding the title.
Although Garbrandt started strong, landing a few jabs and scoring takedowns, his conditioning soon started to wither away. On the other hand, Font put on an impressive display of striking and technicality and just the right amount of aggression, to win the fight. Moreover, Font has now established himself as a serious contender for the title.
Speaking in the post-fight conference, Font shares his views on his opponent. “He’s a cool kid, man. He brings it, he’s either gonna knock you out or get knocked out, no excuses. I’m definitely a fan, who knows one day we could get to train together”. Even though he won the fight, Rob shows great respect towards his defeated opponent and wishes him well.
Over the five rounds, Font put on a striking masterclass where his jab was the main star. Although Garbrandt survived all 5 rounds, Font did more than enough to win via unanimous decision, earning a fourth consecutive victory as well.
Following the victory, Rob warrants a title fight, or at the very least a No.1 Contender fight with one of the division’s biggest names. Naturally, the Puerto Rican feels that he deserves it and certainly has the resume and talent to back it up.

What’s Next For Rob Font?
Currently No.3 in the bantamweight rankings, Font will surely be thinking about a fight against titleholder Aljamain Sterling. However, Font also feels that the winner of TJ Dillashaw vs. Cory Sandhagen will likely be his next opponent. As such, he’s excited to see how things pan out in the next few months.

“I’ll be patient,” Font says. “We’ve got to see how the championship fight plays out and then obviously Cory (Sandhagen) and T.J (Dillashaw) are fighting. I want to get in between those two guys right there”. After an injury to TJ Dillashaw, his bout with Sandhagen has been postponed, there are no updates regarding a new date or venue, at the time.
Additionally, Rob also says, “Obviously the winner of the T.J. fight or obviously if I could get to the belt, I would love to get straight to the belt”. With current champ Aljamain Sterling also commending Font’s performance, it seems that Font has a very exciting future ahead of him.
