Tony Ferguson held no punches back at the UFC 262 Press Conference. In short, aside from Charles Oliveira, Tony had some interesting words for Michael Chandler, Dana White, and Beneil Dariush.
Although he will be fighting Beneil Dariush, Tony took shots at Chandler and his “Dana White privilege”. Chandler’s title bout with Olivera is only his second fight in the UFC. On the other hand, Ferguson was never fortunate enough to compete for the undisputed championship, despite a 12 win streak.
Moreover, ‘El Cucuy’ went off on Beneil Dariush after a comment. “Hey, homie, I already know that you went to help Justin Gaethje,” Ferguson said. “You’re a little b*tch for going out there and helping him fight for the title. Previously, Justin Gaethje fought Khabib for the lightweight title. Both of them have the same manager, Ali Abdelaziz.
“You listened to (your manager) Ali Abdelaziz, and he f*cking manipulated your ass. … Look, I have nothing against you. But seriously, my punches are going to f*cking starch your ass. I’m going to knock you out.” Clearly, it appears as though Tony has lost all respect for Beneil following this new information.
Additionally, Tony mocked Dariush’s sessions with high-level, well-known UFC athletes, whether it’s Gaethje or Kings MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro. “Look, at Kings MMA you have how many UFC fighters training with you? It was the same thing on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ when they all went against me. You know what the f*ck happened with them.”

Can Tony Ferguson Beat Beneil Dariush?
Tony Ferguson and Dariush have had win streaks within the UFC’s most competitive division. Unfortunately, Ferguson had two lopsided losses, whilst Dariush has more recently hit his stride. This fight is a big test for both men, as only one can advance into the jam-packed lightweight title picture.

Tony, 37, has accumulated more damage than most UFC veterans. Hence, his proactive, fearless style will catch up with him eventually. Although he’s dangerous offensively, defensively he’s vulnerable. At his age, this style becomes riskier with each matchup, and the pairing with Dariush is naturally a big challenge.
Although there is talk of Tony losing his edge, he is well capable of turning the tide at any given time. Fans will be praying for the best version of Tony at the Toyota Center in Houston on May 15.
