Tyron Woodley respects “Martial Arts attitude” of Georges St-Pierre more than Kamaru Usman

Georges St-Pierre of Canada enters the octagon for his UFC middleweight championship bout against Michael Bisping

In a preview for UFC 260, Tyron Woodley revealed that he’d rather fight Georges St-Pierre over a rematch with Kamaru Usman. Talking to RT Sport MMA, Woodley covered numerous topics including Masvidal V Usman, Vicente Luque, and others.

He was given the choice between first, a rematch with Usman. Second, a legacy fight with GSP or third, a super fight with the Middleweight champ. After pondering over his options for a bit, he picked GSP.

If I had a choice, I’d pick em for the rest of my fights,” he says. However, after pondering over his options for a while, he felt that it would have to be between Usman and St-Pierre.

Usman never beat me, I beat myself,” he claims. He feels that he didn’t do himself proud that night. According to him, he would’ve beaten Usman in the first round had he felt like himself.

” I’ve always respected his martial arts attitude,” says Woodley. He also calls St-Pierre the “greatest Welterweight of all time.” He expresses his respect and admiration for GSP and would love to see how he ‘measures’ up against him. He claims that he would ‘love’ to get an opportunity to fight him.

“If I come back, it would be for one fight. And I need to take, for me, the biggest fish,” said Georges on Khabib Nurmagomedov. Moreover, Nurmagomedov had expressed interest in fighting St-Pierre for his 30th career fight.

However, St-Pierre, the former champion also said he goes back and forth about whether he truly wants to fight again. St-Pierre said he doesn’t want to fight after he turns 40 years old, which happens on May 19. That means Khabib ( currently retired) and Woodley, need to act fast!
