“The legs feed the wolf” Khabib’s Cousin Usman Nurmagomedov celebrates his unanimous decision win at Bellator 255 debut

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov won his Bellator debut fight in the lightweight division against Mike Hamel at Bellator 255. Usman won the three-round bout via unanimous decision on April 2, 2021.

It was a compact showdown from Usman, who mainly outclassed the opponent Hamel through continuous striking. The 22-year-old is certainly good at kicks. Hence, in all three rounds, he kept the fight on the feet.

Although the bout took place on April 2, Nurmagomedov is still celebrating his victory. He posted a photo on Instagram to celebrate his Bellator 255 win.

Usman captioned, “The legs feed the wolf.” It seems the Russian is looking to dominate Bellator in the future.

Usman started his career in 2017 and currently holds 12-0 records. He is yet to fight the high-profile fighters. But with the Bellator debut, it is expected that he will fight more talented fighters soon.

Usman Nurmagomedov vs Mike Hamel fight result

From the beginning of the fight, Nurmagomedov was active with kicks and punches.However, Hamel looked to fight back against Nurmagomedov’s punches. But Usman was aggressive and did not let Hamel hit him in the first round.

The beginning of the second round was almost the same as the first round. But, Hamel threw a few punches in the second round to earn some points. Further, Hamel attempted a takedown, and he was successful briefly. The American fought better than the first round, but Nurmagomedov bloodied him with many stiff jabs.

As soon as the third round started, both fighters became more vicious to take down each other. Hamel carried over his momentum and eventually put pressure on Nurmagomedov. Hamel also connected more shots than the previous rounds. However, Usman fought back with few body kicks and ended the round as dominant.

Usman Nurmagomedov won all the rounds, and the score was 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27.

It was the first time that Usman Nurmagomedov fought in the USA. Previously the 22-year-old visited the United Arab Emirates for a fight. Now that Usman joined Bellator, it seems he will follow his cousin Khabib to dominate other fighters from around the world.
