Stipe Miocic celebrates his TKO victory over Daniel Cormier

Stipe Miocic posted a photo on Instagram with a long caption in which he talked about his regrets, and conveyed a sorry message to his team and family. However, he also thanked the new heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

Stipe Miocic was devastated in the UFC 260 event and lost via a second-round knockout. The punches from Ngannou were so heavy that Stipe Miocic went unconscious. However, he became conscious later. Miocic wrote, “First and foremost, I’m ok. I know that fall wasn’t my most graceful fall, but I was unconscious, so it happens.”

The message from Miocic shows that he is down completely and the loss was totally unexpected. “To my family friends and fans, especially Croatia & Cleveland. I love you and I’m sorry. I hate letting you down,” The Silencer continued.

Later he also wrote for his team, who are another family. “To my team, thank you. I know you feel every loss just as much as I do. We win as a family, we lose as a family. Losses aren’t fun, they always sting for a while, but that’s the beast of this business,” he conveyed to the team.

Stipe Miocic thanked Francis Ngannou

Francis Ngannou was outstanding in the UFC heavyweight bout. Miocic could not stand in front of Ngannou and his punches. However, the 38-year-old tried several takedowns but failed.

Miocic could not apply his game plan but had a good start in the second round. “Unfortunately, I deviated from game plan. I felt great coming into the second round, I saw it was beginning to go as planned” the defeated fighter said about his game plan.

The win for Francis Ngannou was necessary as he has been waiting to take the avenge for two years, and he deserved it. Stipe Miocic did not forget to thank his rival. “Lastly, I’d like to congratulate @francisngannou and his team on a well-earned victory. Saturday night was your night, enjoy your victory,” Miocic wishes Ngannou.

Miocic will take a break and spend time with his family as he and his wife are expecting a baby boy in the coming summer. Miocic thinks this is his downtime, and it happens to every fighter’s life.
