Stipe Miocic Working on 250lbs Shape to Prove himself “Worst Nightmare” to the Each Rival Next

Stipe Miocic celebrates his TKO victory over Daniel Cormier in their heavyweight championship bout during the UFC 241 event at the Honda Center on August 17, 2019 in Anaheim, California.

Stipe Miocic took to Instagram to reveal his intentions about a possible jump to 250 pounds. Following his loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260, he is keen to come back stronger.

Previously, Stipe was the heavyweight champion. Regarded by Dana White as one of the best heavyweights of all time, the  ‘Stone Cold’ was invincible at one point. In his time as champ, he beat Ngannou, Cormier, and Alistair Overeem among others.

Unfortunately, Stipe lost to Ngannou in the rematch of their UFC 220 bout. After gaining a victory by a ‘U-Dec’, Miocic was unable to cope with Francis’ power at UFC 260. As a result, Stipe lost via KO/TKO in round 2 of the fight.

Whilst many suggested that Stipe will probably retire, he is showing no signs of slowing down. In the same Instagram post, ‘The Silencer’ vows to become “everyone’s worst nightmare”. Moreover, many fans have been vocal for him to come back and take on Ngannou for a trilogy.

Stipe reveals that he deviated from his team’s game plan for the fight. He became overly aggressive in the second to try and outgun Ngannou. Unfortunately, this did not work and Miocic ended up on the deck.

What’s Next for Stipe Miocic?

Previously, Stipe Miocic revealed that he is going to be taking some time off. Following his knockout to Ngannou, he was immediately rushed to the hospital for precautions. Fortunately, he recovered quite soon.

Moreover, he spoke about how he will take time to assess the situation and further work, on his next game plan. He is also looking forward to spending time with his family and welcoming a newborn son in the summer.

After attending to his family matters, Miocic will be back at the drawing board. However, he will be working on achieving a 250 lbs shape before he is ready to fight again. Many suggested that Miocic was ‘too small’ after his fight against Daniel Cormier. As such, a bigger shape will allow him to deal with bigger opponents better.

Now, the Ohio native is seemingly closer to a comeback. Whilst fans have suggested a trilogy with Ngannou, ‘Stone Cold’ might have a different plan. As such, fans can expect more to be revealed in the summer.
