Sean O’Malley challenges Petr Yan after Postponed Rematch With Aljamain Sterling due to his neck surgery

Sean O'Malley seems to be excited for his upcoming fight.

Sean O’Malley, the former UFC bantamweight contender took to Twitter to call out Peter Yan who awaits his rematch. Sean tweeted, “wanna beat me up while you wait for your rematch?”

Everyone expected Yan to face the UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling. However, Sterling has opted to go for his neck surgery. So the fight is not going to happen soon and the fight may be shelved for later this summer. This means that Yan can opt to fight someone else in the meantime.

Despite the fact that it’s far-fetched the UFC would strip Sterling of his title, it’s conceivable the promoters could select to present an interim title. In any case, it appears to be likely that Yan will battle another person meanwhile. Furthermore, if that is the situation, Sean O’Malley needs it to be him.

The banter never stops: Sean O’Malley

As of late, we heard Sean O’Malley calling out the previous UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. In any case, it seems like ‘Suga’ is currently shooting much higher up the bantamweight food chain and is focusing on the ex-champ. Taking to his social media on Tuesday, O’Malley got down on Yan for a battle in July, messing with the Russian that he will get beat up by Yan.

Sean O’Malley is coming off of a colossal KO win against Thomas Almeida that was particularly merciless. Yet he’s not the best 15 ranked contender. However, he is a massive draw and the UFC will likely give him a ranked veteran in his next fight. While Yan may be shooting too high up the ladder, it’s worth at least taking your shot if you are O’Malley. While he may not be a ranked fighter, he is a big name, so it’s possible Yan could be interested, but we’ll see.
