UFC Hall of Famer, Rashad Evans recently spoke about Brian Ortega V Alex Volkanovski. In a YouTube Live with MorningKombat, Evans speaks about who he thinks will win the bout.
In the latest episode of the MorningKombat (ep.135) host, Luke Thomas and Rashad discussed various topics. From Miocic V Ngannou to Miesha Tate’s return, the show had it all. Interestingly enough, it also included the now postponed Ortega V Volkanovski title fight.
“I was really feeling Ortega, man,” Rashad said about the fight. He feels that Ortega really showed him something and says that he’s “ever surging and growing.” Furthermore, he adds that Brian is a really difficult fight for a lot of guys.
” He brings that clutch, submission game,” Rashad adds as he talks about Ortega. He explains how Ortega’s ability to make his opponents submit gives him an upper hand over others. Moreover, he emphasizes the need for a good submission ability.
Rashad explains how the ability to make your opponent submit allows you to get out of a sticky situation. Brian certainly knows how to do that. He has 7 submissions out of 15 wins in his MMA career.
Title Time for Brian Ortega?
A Volkanovski V Ortega title fight was scheduled for UFC 260, but with Volkanovski testing positive for COVID, the fight had to be postponed. “We have worked so hard getting ready for this fight and I’m absolutely gutted this has happened,” he wrote in his tweet. Ortega was quick to share his support for Volkanovski and wished him a speedy recovery.

“I know you would have took the fight no matter what, even with COVID,” Ortega said. It was very wholesome to see the respect and appreciation between the two fighters. Ortega (15-1, 1)has earned a title shot after his win over “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung.
Moreover, the UFC announced the news that the matchup would remain in place for a future date. Since there’s no confirmation yet, it is assumed the fight will take place in April.
