McGregor weigh-ins “The 155lb World Champion, book it” to get a fight in the upcoming UFC event

Conor McGregor is ready for his next fight against Dustin Poirier. UFC initially wanted to book Notorious in May, but Dana White was unable to finalize the deal. Finally, the new possible date will be in July.

McGregor lost his last meeting with Poirier and wanted a rematch. Following that such a match between them has been in the works for the last few weeks. According to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, the trilogy is now being targeted to July. Although there is no confirmation yet, UFC is hopeful about a date in that month.

“There was once a hope McGregor-Poirier 3 fight would get done for May 15 but it’s taken longer than hoped/expected so they moved on from that a while ago, sources say,” Helwani tweeted. “Won’t happen on June 12 (Figueiredo-Moreno on that card), so latest hope is the July 10 card. We’ll see.”

Conor McGregor is ready to take down Poirier

The delay of the fight would be definitely beneficial for McGregor as he will get more time to practice. But it seems the 32-year-old is ready to get back into the octagon as soon as possible. He posted a photo on Twitter from UFC 257’s weigh-in and wrote, “The 155lb World Champion. Book it!”

The Irishman cannot wait to return to get a win. Additionally, Conor might be a future contender for the lightweight title as Khabib vacated it yesterday. So, a win against Poirier will be a step for the Notorious towards the title bout.
