Marvin Vettori Applauds Robert Whittaker’s Fight, Also Disses His Patterns to Be ‘Similar’ Every time

Robert Whittaker showcases his strength at the weigh-ins.

The former UFC middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker defeated Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Vegas 24’s main event on April 17, 2021. Referring to Whittaker’s triumph, his fellow middleweight contender, Marvin Vettori, extolled the champ in an interview.

Whittaker constituted his middleweight career in 2014 and lost only one bout in his seven years of career. However, the 30-year-old does not create frequent headlines but has built a profile that attracts rivals to join a duel with him.

UFC middleweight fighter Marvin Vettori desired to fight against Robert Whittaker for a title shot. Subsequently, Vettori is currently ranked at No. 2 in the UFC middleweight division. “You know I’m the only guy, and I’m ready, and you know this the fight this fight needs to happen,” the Italian MMA fighter expressed.

However, the Italian Dream praised Robert Whittaker for his win last night. In Robert’s last 13 fights, he lost only one fight, and Vettori thinks Robert has improved a lot since his last defeat in 2019 against Israel Adesanya. “High kick, you know, like, I think that’s his best weapon, and so he he’s improving for sure, but I think the patterns are always the same he like the patterns that he uses they’re all just very similar,” Vettori applauded Whittaker.

Furthermore, Whittaker stunningly mixed up his striking power on all five rounds. He showed his skill on landing jabs, left hooks, straight rights, front kicks, and leg kicks. Although Kelvin Gastelum is one of the top middleweight fighters in the world, he failed to showcase his skill last night.

Currently, Whittaker is ranked at No. 2 in the middleweight category, all around the globe. The Vegas 24’s victory should put him in a state to take revenge against Israel Adesanya, who defeated him in a title fight two years ago.
