Khabib Nurmagomedov vacated his title last Friday, which marked Khabib’s official retirement. He will now focus on his business portfolio to expand his business all over Russia.
Although Khabib announced his retirement after his last fight against Justin Gaethje, it was not official until March. Over the previous five months, the whole UFC world was confused about Khabib’s decision on retirement. And there have been many speculations that the undefeated champion will return to the octagon.
UFC president Dana White was hoping to bring the 30-year-old back into the ring. On the other hand, Khabib was firm in his decision and finally vacated the title.
Now that Nurmagomedov is retired, what is he going to do? He discussed his post-retirement life plan with ESPN’s Megan Olivi.
Khabib Nurmagomedov to launch his new business
The Eagle is a free bird now. He will not need to follow any UFC rules and regulations. The retired champ will now allot his time to improving the existing businesses and work towards launching a new venture. However, that does not mean that he will not be in touch with the UFC.
“I’m gonna be very close to UFC, and uh I’m gonna be around guys I’m not going to let you guys miss me you know and but you know it’s like but inside the cage like I don’t feel I have to go inside the cage,” the Russian explained his future attachment with UFC.
He talked about his life after retirement. The lightweight champion wants to pass the time with the family and kids. Besides, he will also focus on businesses. “What comes next it’s like I have some business projects I’m gonna make money I’m gonna enjoy with my life I have kids, Khabib explained about his retirement plan.
Khabib Nurmagomedov already won different businesses in Russia, and he has his mobile network operator, Eagle Mobile, and other lucrative business sponsors from numerous famous brands. In addition, UFC lightweight champion has been planning to expand his business portfolio with a chain of gyms in Russia.
