Tyron Woodley has recently come out and voiced his support for Jorge Masvidal in his upcoming fight against Kamaru Usman in UFC 261. T- Wood spoke with Ariel Helwani on ESPN MMA, on who he thinks will come out on top in Kamaru Usman V Jorge Masvidal.
“He’s always training” he says, talking about how he is impressed with Masvidal’s resilience and dedication to the sport. He feels that even though Masvidal comes from a rough street fighting background, he still wants to keep training and improving himself.
“I’m always gonna root for my dawg, Masvidal,” Woodley added. While he’s fully on Team Masvidal, Woodley was also quick to point out that it’s going to be tough to truly predict who’s going to win that fight.

After defeating Gilbert Burns on February 13, Usman called out Masvidal for a rematch of their July 11, 2020, bout. The last time around, Masvidal had taken the fight on six days’ notice.
He ended up losing to Usman via unanimous decision. However, many in the MMA community want to see a rematch, saying that Masvidal deserves a shot at Usman and the title with a full camp. Fans are of the opinion, that it was not getting the proper build-up to the event, the last time around.

A Definitive Rematch for ‘Gamebred’
Whilst many suggest that it’s once again on short notice, Masvidal wouldn’t agree to fight if he didn’t feel good enough to win. With Masvidal recently out in Colombia for rehab on his body, there is no telling what shape he’s in.
One thing is for sure, the fight will be much closer this time around. The two have already fought before and ‘Gamebred’, will be better prepared this time around.
