Jorge Masvidal Reveals How he Fooled Coach’s Eye Eating “Cheat Meal” from McDonald’s During Training Camp

Jorge Masvidal punches Kamaru Usman during UFC 251

Jorge Masvidal is all set for his fight against Kamaru Usman. Masvidal is keen to exact revenge against Usman at UFC 261.

Previously, Masvidal lost to Usman at UFC 251. At the time, Masvidal had taken on the fight at a week’s notice with a half camp. Hence, fans were convinced that he can do even better with enough preparation time.

This time around, Jorge has managed to cut down weight well before the fight. As a result, he was able to sneak in a cheat meal from McDonald’s. “Everybody gets their cheat meal you know, I love it,” he says as he professes his fondness for McDonald’s burgers.

The discussion came about after Masvidal posted on Instagram a video of him ordering at a drive-in. As expected, the video led to speculations doubting Masvidal’s sincerity in the camp. However, his interview with ESPN MMA shed clarity on the situation.

“My weight’s been phenomenal since the fight’s been announced,” he says. This allowed him to convince his coaches for the sneaky cheat meal. Furthermore, he goes on to reveal the constituents of his go-to McDonald’s order.

Will Jorge Masvidal Get his Revenge?

‘Gamebred’ is still the underdog coming into the fight. Even though he had less time to prepare for the last fight, he did extremely well and only lost via decision. However, fighters and experts still suggest that Kamaru will triumph yet again.

After defeating Gilbert Burns on February 13, Usman called out Masvidal for a rematch of their July 11, 2020, UFC 251 bout. Whilst many suggest that it’s once again on short notice, Masvidal wouldn’t agree to fight if he didn’t feel confident enough to win.

Recently, he has been out in Colombia for rehab on his body, there is no telling what shape he’s in. However, the fighter promises a better performance this time around. He has vowed to win via knockout.

Usman on the other hand will be defending his title for the fifth consecutive time. With Colby Covington supposedly next in line, the pressure will surely be high. Usman called out Masvidal for the rematch, now it’ll be interesting to see if he can defeat him once again.
