Joanna JęDrzejczyk Wishes Zhang Weili, Rose Namajunas Would Outpass Her Benchmark For ‘Strawweight Division’ in Fight Ahead Them

Joanna JęDrzejczyk

Zhang Weili will fight Rose Namajunas at UFC 261 in the Women Strawweight division co-main event on April 24, 2021. The former UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna JęDrzejczyk wishes that both contenders would fight better than herself and lead the strawweight division.

Joanna recently appeared in an interview with MMAFightingonSBN and discussed on Weili vs Namajunas fight as well as Valentina Shevchenko vs Jessica Andrade fight.

However, Joanna was more interested in talking about Weili vs Namajunas fight as she lost to both fighters. However, she found it difficult to predict the winner. “It’s 50 it’s 50 50 you know it’s difficult to score this point. I’m like just watch this fight you know so I don’t know I wish lots of luck to both of them,” Joanna stated.

Further, JęDrzejczyk wished for the betterment of the division. “I hope they will bring the strawberry division even higher than I did last time,” the 33-year-old wished.

Joanna JęDrzejczyk to return in the octagon

The former UFC women’s strawweight champion has not fought since March 2020 after she lost to Zhang Weili through a razor-close split decision.

Since that time, Jedrzejcyzk has been staying in her homeland Poland. But she wants to return to the United States and take training with her team. “I can’t wait to get back to the states and start training with my team again,” she conveyed her plan.

Furthermore, Joanna wants to take revenge on Weili and Namajunas. She wants to fight the winner. “I want to get the winner of this fight,” Jedrzejczyk said.

While the 33-year-old veteran hasn’t officially booked any fight yet, she already laid out what she wants. She hopes to get her fight booked sooner rather than later.
