“F***k Francis”: Derrick Lewis Reveals Two Things He Really Hates About Francis Ngannou

Derrick Lewis reacts after his knockout victory over Curtis Blaydes in a heavyweight bout during the UFC Fight Night event at UFC APEX on February 20, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Derrick Lewis made an appearance at UFC 262 as a guest fighter during Saturday’s UFC 262 event in Houston. Moreover, Lewis had heavy involvement in the post-fight press conference.

Whilst Lewis is next in line for a heavyweight title fight with Francis Ngannou, the news is not official yet. Since April, UFC president Dana White is adamant that Lewis is the No. 1 contender for the title. Moreover, White insists on this decision despite Jon Jones being the fan’s choice.

Speaking about Ngannou, Lewis states two reasons why he does not like the Cameroonian. “I really don’t like guys that got hair. That’s one of the reasons. And also: he makes me look fat when I stand next to him, so f*ck him. F*ck Francis”. Whilst Lewis kept the interaction very light-hearted, he also explained why he does not like anyone in his division.

“It’s the type of mindset I go into with each fight. I don’t wanna be friends with none of ’em,” he says. As a result, Lewis looks to build animosity towards his opponents, and everyone in the heavyweight division.

Additionally, ‘The Black Beast’ is the only active loss of Francis Ngannou’s career. As such, he is happy that his proposed fight with Ngannou is picking up pace. Although the date and venue are yet to be confirmed, Lewis is guaranteed to be next in line to fight Ngannou.

Can Derrick Lewis beat Francis Ngannou Again?

Leading up to the fight, Derrick Lewis recognizes that a lot has changed since his last encounter with Ngannou. For one, Ngannou is now the heavyweight champion and much more experienced than last time. However, ‘The Black Beast’ insists that he has made some developments of his own as well.

Following his victory over Curtis Blaydes, Lewis has been on break. He feels that since Ngannou is taking time off to visit his family, he can slowly ease himself into training as well. Moreover, the fight is yet to receive an official go-ahead.

Even though Derrick has recorded two losses in his last seven fights he will surely be at his peak for this fight. Moreover, with an extra motivation to fight for the title, Derrick will be determined to replicate his UFC 226 victory over Ngannou.
