Diego Sanchez Announces Split From Manager and Coach Joshua Fabia

Diego Sanchez enters the octagon against Michael Chiesa in their welterweight fight during the UFC 239 event at T-Mobile Arena on July 6, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC Hall of Famer Diego Sanchez has finally cut ties with Joshua Fabia. Previously, Fabia was responsible for Sanchez’s operations and was also behind the latter’s exit from the UFC.

Following an announcement on his OnlyFans page, Sanchez’s lawyer, Charles Larkins gave confirmations of the split. Speaking to MMA Fighting, Diego says that he is no longer working with Joshua Fabia as a manager, coach, and guru. However, he refused to dive deep into the situation immediately.

According to Diego’s lawyer, Larkins, the decision to separate from Fabia came to fruition on Thursday. “Any power of attorney that Fabia had has been rescinded/terminated,” Lakins says. Interestingly, Joshua Fabia has since come out claiming that Diego has put a restraining order against the former, whilst claiming that news of their split is false.

Previously, Sanchez began working with Joshua before his fight with Mickey Gall at UFC 235 in 2019. Moreover, his association with the self-proclaiming ‘Master of Self Awareness’ was always seen as ridiculous by the MMA Community. Since then, fans and fighters have been trying to convince Diego of Fabia’s negative influence.

Over the years, Fabia began making the news due to his obnoxious training methods and conflicts with UFC commentary staff. Unfortunately, Fabia was also the reason behind Sanchez’s unceremonious release from the UFC last month.

What’s Next For Diego Sanchez?

Recently, Dana White, Conor McGregor, and many others have all tried to appeal to Diego to ditch Fabia. By and large, the entire MMA Community feels that Fabia is controlling Sanchez and behaves like a “cult leader” at times. After the release of some very suspect training footage, the entire MMA Community was in an uproar.

After problems with his medical records, ‘The Nightmare’ saw his contract terminated by the UFC. Once again, Joshua played a key role in this affair. UFC President Dana White said, “They never do any good for them,” with regards to Fabia at the time.

Now, it appears that Diego has finally seen the light and broken through Fabia’s brainwashing. As such, it is likely that the fighter will soon return to MMA, possibly even return to the UFC, for one last fight.
