
UFC: Khabib Nurmagomedov Wants to Duel in Russia
Khabib Nurmagomedov is negotiating the next fight. The lightweight UFC world champion hopes the next duel will be held in Russia.
Khabib was looking for a new opponent, after winning over Dustin Poirier at UFC 242. He had already discussed the next duel.
As reported by Russian Today Sport, Khabib explained he really wanted to duel in his country, Russia. The Dagestan fighter was quite sure he could make it happen.
“Negotiations are ongoing with the UFC. I really want to fight in Russia.” Petersburg is a closed arena [Gazprom Arena], “explained Khabib.
” In Moscow, the Luzhniki Stadium is open. I was there when the 2018 World Cup final when it rains if such a thing happens, it can disrupt the event of MMA.”
” At St. Petersburg, the stadium has 75 thousand seats, I can fight there. In a small arena, it won’t work. I really want to fight there, the conversation continues. “I’m sure 80 percent of my next duel will be held in Russia,” he explained.
So far, Khabib has several names to face in the next duel. The name most likely to be faced is Tony Ferguson, who has cast his challenges.
If Tony couldn’t, Khabib was said to want to face the UFC legend George Saint-Pierre. Finally, the name Conor McGregor is also said to still have a chance to face it again.
