WBC Heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury is equipped with a new move to ward off Deontay Wilder’s revenge in the trilogy in July in the United States. The new move was prepared by coach SugarHill Steward after smelling the scent of revenge prepared by Wilder’s camp.
‘When you lose, you want to go back and fix some things.’
Deontay is a competitor. ‘He lost the fight, so I’m sure he wants to be better,’ Steward told BoxingScene.com in an interview.
Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO) humiliated Wilder who was previously unbeaten (42-1-1, 41 KO) with a seventh-round TKO victory on December 22. Fury dropped Wilder twice in the third and fifth rounds before winning the seventh-round TKO.
Steward gave a message to Fury to change his fighting style during the trilogy vs. Wilder. This tactic is to anticipate the revenge Wilder camp that was destroyed in the last duel.
‘I don’t want to say I’m surprised how ineffective Deontay is,’ Steward said.
‘We are confident in our game plan. He saw something on Deontay that made these thoughts appear in his head. The game plan is executed – to knock out. Tyson Fury is a bigger and stronger weight class, and he has to fight like that.’
