Three young racers fostered by Astra Honda Racing Team (AHRT) again appeared in the CEV International Championship racing series at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, on Sunday (9/29/2019). The three drivers namely Mario Suryo Aji, Gerry Salim, and Andi Gilang.

Mario Suryo Aji dropped in the CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship class. In the sixth series of the CEV International Championship, Mario believes he can score points this weekend. Armed with the top 10 positions in the last round before the summer break at MotorLand Aragon, Mario is determined to score better achievements in this series.

With three rounds remaining in the Moto3 Junior World Championship class, this young Indonesian rider is ranked 16th in the standings, with 19 points.

“I am ready to face the race this weekend. After undergoing the race in the previous round at Aragon, I am more confident and confident to be able to compete in the forefront group at the race this weekend. I will try to perform optimally for the Astra Honda Racing Team and the people of Indonesia, “Mario said in a press statement received by SINDOnews, Friday (9/27/2019).

Meanwhile, Gerry Salim will compete in the CEV Moto2 European Championship class accompanied by Andi Gilang who gets a wild card for the same class. Gerry Salim left for Spain in the best condition after last weekend competing in the Moto2 World Championship.

Valuable lessons from experience in world-class racing will make Gerry better prepared for the next competition at CEV, after missing the last race due to injuries sustained during qualification at MotorLand Aragon.

The Astra Honda racer has fully recovered to undergo the race at Jerez and is now eyeing good results again at the Moto2 European Championship. Gerry is currently 17th in the standings with 16 points. “Last weekend I gained additional experience when I had the opportunity to take part in the Moto2 World Championship race in Aragon. Hopefully, that experience can add to my racing skills this weekend when it descends on the Jerez Circuit. I will try to provide the best results for Indonesia, request your prayers and support, “explained Gerry.

In addition to Gerry Salim, in the sixth round of the CEV Moto2 World Championship race the other AHRT-guided racer, Andi Farid Idzihar, will also go down to accompany Gerry after getting a second wildcard chance. I am very happy to have the chance to race again at CEV.

“I will take advantage of this opportunity at Jerez as best I can to show my potential. Hopefully, I can record positive racing results this weekend,” Andi said.

CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship will be held on Sunday (9/29/2019), at 16:00 WIB and 19:00 WIB. While the CEV Moto2 European Championship will take place at 18:00 WIB. The race can be witnessed directly through the official FIM CEV channel on YouTube.
