The Undertaker (Mark Calaway) has been making some headlines after calling the current WWE generation ‘soft.’ However, no one is taking it negatively from the retired Phenom. He discussed several factors about WWE on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience on January 20.
Before he signifies the new wrestlers as ‘soft,’ undertake said, “I’ll probably piss a lot of people off, but they need to hear it. It is what it is. To the young guys, ‘Oh, he’s a bitter old guy.’ I’m not bitter. I did my time, I’m good. I walked away when I learned to walk away. I just think the product is a little soft.”
Before going further about the discussion, the Deadman was asked if he enjoys watching wrestling after his life after retirement. The Undertaker stepped away from wrestling last year after entertaining 30 glorious years in WWE. However, he is turning 56 next month.
About enjoyment of wrestling after retirement, The Undertaker said, “I try, it’s tough right now for me.”
During the interview, Calaway did not highlight any bright stars from the recent era. It was surprising! Some recent stars were responsible for certain magical moments in his career.
However, the magic of The Undertaker has existed for three decades, and I believe it will remain in the hall of fame forever.
Why The Undertaker praised Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre?
Throughout the discussion, Undertaker identifies the recent wrestler as a WWE product, and he certainly has the right to give his opinion on the product. His final match against AJ Styles was a cinematic “Boneyard” encounter, which he fantasizes less. Instead, The Undertake talked about Goldberg’s match in Saudi Arabia; he will remember that match forever for the wrong reason. Undertaker highlighted that match as a disaster. Next month, Undertaker played a tag team match with Roman Reigns against Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon. In the interview, he told the details of how those men were beside him and helped him to boost his confidence.
By referring to that match, The Undertaker said, “I go all the way back with Shane to when he was in college. I have a long-lasting relationship with all the Samoans, and Roman is one of the Samoan greats. As a human being, I think the world of Roman. And Drew is one of those genuine guys. Anytime I’m around, he’s right there picking my brain. He’s not doing it because it looks good to others, he does it because he genuinely wants to get better. Those are two legitimately great stars.”
The Deadman is thankful to Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, and Shane McMahon. He would live the rest of his life memorizing those times with them.
