FIFA denies cheating when Lionel Messi has been named the best player. All documents received by FIFA from the owner of the voting rights are claimed to be valid.

Messi won the 2019 World Player of the Year award with 46 votes. He is superior to Virgil van Dijk (38), Cristiano Ronaldo (36).

The vote was allegedly cheated. Italian media, Tuttosport, showed a variety of strange things in the 2019 FIFA Player of the Year election.

The Nicaraguan captain, Juan Barrera, admitted that he did not use the right to vote. Strangely, his name is still on the voter list and has casted the name, Lionel Messi.

FIFA has already opened its voices regarding this issue through its spokesperson who was contacted directly by ESPN. FIFA confirms documents received officially from the Nicaragua Football Federation.

“We have examined the ballot documents provided by the Nicaraguan FA and all the documents were signed and confirmed with the official FA of Nicaragua,” a FIFA spokesman told ESPN.

“After comparing with the ballots given by the federation and which we publish on FIFA.com, we confirm that we have the correct votes signed by the players. We ask the Nicaragua Football Federation to investigate this matter.”

Sudan’s coach, Zdravko Logarusic, also published the oddity of his ballot paper choosing the names Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Kylian Mbappe. But on the list released by FIFA, the choice changed to Messi, Virgil van Dijk, and Mane.

Strange things were also felt by the Egyptian football federation (EFA). They even sent an e-mail to FIFA to ask for an explanation, why the name of Mo Salah that he wanted to ‘disappear’ mysteriously from the list.
