The Rock Is Grateful for the ‘Largest Digital Launch’ of His NBC Comedy ‘Young Rock’

The Rock

NBC just launched ‘Young Rock’, a sitcom based on The Rock’s childhood and teenage life. It appeared to be the largest digital launch of any NBC comedy ever.

NBC’s the Young Rock comedy series

The series premiered on February 16, 2021, and got a 3.4 rating with the demographics of 18-49 years. Since its release, it attracted 11.8 million viewers on all the platforms. The digital platforms include Hulu, Peacock and the NBC app. However, these three platforms are different and operate independently. So, the rating works differently. However, NBC’s in house data shows that the rating for ‘Young Rock’ is relatively lower than their “This Is Us” season premiere last fall.

Nevertheless, Young Rock’s growth is noticeable. During the premier, the rating was 1.0, while it increased to 1.4 in three days. However, the rating became 2.1 in just 72 hours. Currently, it is holding a 3.4 rating which amazed the directors and producers. However, the Peacock and Hulu data are yet to include in the rating list. So, the rating might get increased after adding data from those two platforms.

NBC research shows that the Young Rock is also considered a ‘multigenerational’ comedy of the 2020-21 season. The 18-49 demographics show the proof. However, parents are watching the series with their minor child, too, so minors can be included in the demographics ranges.

The Rock is very excited about the show. He also appeared in the trailers too, explaining the key moments of his life. He is grateful to the viewers and said, “Just seeing this. Thank you, thank you, thank you. In this crazy evolving landscape – the biggest digital launch of any NBC comedy – ever – is a big deal. I think it’s a reflection of multi-generations coming together. So so grateful. #YoungRock”
