The Spanish Football Federation surprised Thursday by fining Barcelona with the ridiculous amount of 300 euros after understanding that the Catalan club violated the rules in its negotiation to hiring forward Antoine Griezmann of Atlético Madrid for 120 million euros.

The Frenchman arrived at the Catalan team from the “mattress” club in July after Barcelona paid the termination clause of his contract, but Atlético complained that the negotiations were held when the attacker still had a contract.
The Competition Committee said that Barcelona violated the rules by starting to negotiate when Griezmann had a contract with Atlético and without permission from the team but acquitted the player of any responsibility.
