The English Premier League winter transfer window 2019/2020 has opened. Some star players have the opportunity to move the club during that period.
A British company, Carteret Analytics, advises several Premier League clubs to release their star players. They make a player’s ‘intrinsic value’ analysis, calculated from the costs incurred and the projected impact on the club.
The data is used by BBC Sports when making a list of players who are likely to leave in the January 2020 transfer market.
7up Sports quotes four of them – who are considered the most likely to move.
Olivier Giroud
There is an assumption that calls Olivier Giroud not liked by coach Frank Lampard at Chelsea. Especially because the appearance of Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi are considered increasingly promising. Giroud’s contract with the Blues will expire this summer. With a collection of nearly 80 goals in the Premier League, it is not difficult for Giroud to find a new port. The club is advised to immediately release this player for 17 million pounds.
Cenk Tosun
The former Besiktas striker failed to compete on the Everton front line. Since trafficked in January 2018, the Turkish national team players have only scored one goal for the Toffees. Everton is likely to sell the player for 27 million pounds.
Paul Pogba
The 26-year-old midfielder doesn’t have enough playing space at Manchester United. The Frenchman is more often struggling with the problem of ankle injuries. Red Devils are advised to sell Pogba because the market price is still high. Carteret Analytics predicts that Pogba is worth selling for 85 million pounds.
Lucas Torreira
This Uruguay national team player made his bright debut with Arsenal. Gradually, Torreira was not at home playing there. This aggressive midfielder was brought in from Sampdoria, so it is believed he will return to play in Serie A if he really leaves. The Napoli are said to be ready to bring this 23-year-old player with a dowry of 37.85 million pounds.
