Rafael Nadal bagged his second victory this season prior to the prestigious Roland Garros. Rafa’s Italian final against Novak Djokovic inspired not only tennis players but also racing drivers like Roy Nissany.
The Israeli Formula 2 driver showcased the best performance in his career at Monaco, finishing third at the race. In a post-race interview, the 26-year-old reported watching the finals between Rafa and Nole at the Internazionali d’Italia.

Rafael Nadal’s final against Novak Djokovic at the Italian Open inspired the F2 driver Roy Nissany to claim third place at the Monaco race.
Nissany said, “I could see from the eyes and their body language that Nadal could keep his rhythm and maintaining his pressure throughout in contrast to Djokovic, and I’m not a tennis expert, but from what I could see he was more spot-on at the beginning and at one point [he would] lose it.”
“This is something that might happen here in Monaco. I came to the conclusion that I don’t have to be spot on and pushing throughout the whole race but have my pace and rhythm and keep it. I applied it and it worked.”
The phenomenal run of Rafael Nadal in the 2021 season
The Spaniard is on a great run this year, he already won two titles on clay court this year at Barcelona and Italy. Therefore, Rafa is the favorite to claim the Roland Garros title this year.

Rafael Nadal won the 2021 Italian Open against Novak Djokovic.
Nadal has a record winning of 13 French Open titles and he’s aiming to get his hands over the 14th title this year. However, Rafael Nadal needs to be cautious at the upcoming Grand Slam as he might again face Novak Djokovic and even Roger Federer. Further, the young players will be a challenge for Spain’s Raging Bull, against whom Rafa has already lost few times this season.
