Pablo Andujar Super Excited to Tell ‘Grandkids’ About Playing Roger Federer in Geneva Camp

Pablo Andujar is thrilled to face Roger Federer in the Geneva Open 2021.

The Swiss veteran Roger Federer is making a comeback at the Geneva Open and his opponent for the first round is Pablo Andujar, who is excited to face the Swiss.

Federer missed most of the last season and even missed this year’s Australian Open. He returned to the court in Qatar Open. However, he failed to make a mark and went back home to work on his form.

The great veteran was looking forward to making a grand comeback at the Roland Garros. But because the French Open got delayed, Federer decided to take part in the Geneva Open. Further, competing in the 250 circuit will help him adapt to the clay-court prior to the Grand Slam.

The Swiss professional is the first seed in the Geneva Open and will face World No. 75. Further, Andujar is looking forward to playing against Roger. Thus, the Spaniard even claims to pass on the story of facing Roger to his next generation.

In a recent interview, Andujar reported, “It was something that I wanted, to have a match against Roger, just to tell my kids and my grandkids when I get older that I played him.”

“I think when you play Rafa, Novak, and Roger … these guys became myths, (they are) something above the sport. I would say that the most important is that they grew the sport,” the Spaniard further exerted his views on playing against the ‘Big Three’.

Roger Federer needs to upgrade his game, as the next generation of players are more competitive and giving a hard time to veterans like Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Thus, we might witness the Swiss playing some phenomenal tennis at Geneva Open and even in the upcoming Roland Garros.
