In an interview, the Ukrainian’s lawyer reported, “Our client never used performance-enhancing agents or prohibited substances such as mesterolone. She is absolutely convinced that her innocence will be judged and that she will continue her career as a successful tennis player.”

Yastremska failed to prove her innocence in the past two tests. Further, her ex-boyfriend claimed the player’s father is forcing him to take the blame for doping her. Dayana and her father claim that her ex-partner passed her the steroid during sexual intercourse. The Yastremskas further argued that according to medical science the steroid is used to increase the potency of testosterone.

The World No.32 last played in the Linz Open last year, where she lost to Greet Minnen with a score of 4-6, 3-6. After the tournament, she didn’t take part in any events, as the authorities have banned her from participating until she proves the allegations wrong.

If the ITF authorities find that Dayana Yastremska actually took mesterolone willingly, then she would face a two-year. Further, she might also have to face a sentence for her deeds.
