Paul Annacone, the former coach of the ‘King of Grass’ Roger Federer talks about the ‘greatest strength’ which led the Swiss star to achieve success in his career.

The 39-year-old veteran has been dominating in the sport along with his Spanish rival Rafael Nadal. However, the younger generation became a threat to the legendary players and in no time the Serbian Novak Djokovic made his name known beside the former two.

Now, Federer along with Djokovic and Nadal are known as the ‘Big Three’ of tennis. But in recent years the Swiss is failing to make a mark because of his injuries. These injuries even forces the professional to go under the knife and take a year-long break from tennis.

Even after so many issues, the former World No.1 still faces every challenge head on because of his ways and ethics. His former coach Annacone talked about the passion and outlook the player has for tennis. These ethics of the Swiss star keep pushing him to grow and perform at his best even at age 39.

In a recent interview, Annacone reported, I think Roger Federer’s greatest strength as a player and a person is his perspective. I mean, I think he really understands life and because he understands life and the ability to prioritize things and pragmatism with which he approaches stuff has allowed him to do what he loves for this long,”

The former coach further expressed, “He just loves tennis, and that’s why, at 39, he’s still out there.”

Roger currently ranks eighth in the ATP rankings and he’s been out of the sport over a year. As the player underwent for a knee surgery, although he made took part in the 2021 Doha Open. However, King Federer got knocked out at the quarter-finals to Nikoloz Basilashvili. Further, he went back to his home in Geneva to heal his body and work on his form.

Currently, Roger Federer is working with his coaches for the 2021 Roland Garros. The Swiss might have a tough time there, as his rivals Djokovic and Nadal will be there. Further, the younger generation will be a constant threat to Federer at the French Open.
