‘There nothing to be ashamed of’ -Medvedev’s Message to the Seeds in speaking of the Top Records of ‘Big Three’

The World No. 2, Daniil Medvedev, will establish his record of holding the Rank No. 2 in the FedEx ATP Rankings since July 2005. On Monday, the Russian will make history to become the first player outside the ‘Big Four’ to hold the top two position for so long.

Daniil Medvedev spoke about the records of ‘Top Three’

Medvedev has always praised the ‘Top Three’ that is Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and their unbelievable records. He has looked up to them in his professional career and there is so much to learn from. The milestones that they have set are dream targets for other players to achieve. It seems unattainable to knock their set up records.

As I’ve always said about the Big Three, they are unbelievable. The records they have set [are] probably not going to be beaten maybe in 100 years,” Medvedev said.

Further, the 25-year-old took a step ahead to clarify that the other players have their own capabilities and there is nothing to be ashamed of. Every player cannot possess the same expertise, each one has a unique set of skills to showcase. However, they should grasp the opportunity to learn from all-time champions.

It’s just that the ‘Legends’ are exceptionally perfect and have mastered the skills required. Undoubtedly, it is rare to find such flair in sports.

“It’s very rare that you see this in sports. I don’t think you can say that other players were not good enough in this era, it’s just that they were unbelievable and there’s nothing for others to be ashamed of,” said the Russian.

Daniil Medvedev praised Federer’s comeback

While complimenting the Top Three, he also added Federer’s win against Evans after his comeback. Daniil said that the sport has witnessed such comebacks of many players. Some players could not even put two balls in a row in the court but the former World No. 1 is almost 40 and can still win matches. That’s incredible. Laslty,  expressed it is a special feeling to play against the ‘Big Three’.

In his upcoming match, Medvedev will play Matthew Ebden on Saturday in the Marseille semi-finals.
