‘We will support’ Dieter Flick assures full support to help Robert Lewandowski beat Legend Gerd Müller’s scoring record

'We will support' Dieter Flick assures full support to help Robert Lewandowski beat Legend Gerd Müller's scoring record

Robert Lewandowski has received an assurance from Bayern Munich coach Hans Dieter Flick. Flick said that will help the Pole beat Munich legend Gerd Müller record.

Ever since Robert Lewandowski arrived at the Allianz Arena, he has had his eye on beating Mullers’ all-time goal record. Due to his absence from the team, Lewandowski could not achieve this task earlier on and following his re-entry, the record seems to be the only thought on his mind.

In an interview on 24th April 2021, Flick said, “We will help Robert Lewandowski reach his goal.”

“However, Robert knows that the Bundesliga title and the team comes first. He has agreed to work for the team and not for himself” said Hans-Dieter Flick.

Gerd Muller’s record has become a target for many strikers in the Bundesliga to crack; however none have come as close to it as The Body has. The German legend achieved his record by scoring forty goals in a Bundesliga season. In comparison Robert Lewandowski has just five more goals to score to beat Mullers record.

For seven years he has played with Die Rotten. However, he has never achieved his current goal record even once.

Despite being known as ‘Lewangoalski’ by teammate Thomas Muller, The Pole could never end the season with a flawless goalscoring record. This year however he has come ever closer to achieving the record with FCB having a further four games to go. Robert Lewandowski can get closer to his goal as the first three games for Bayern Munich would see him face Mainz, Monchengladbach and Freiburg.

Coincidentally, Lewandowski has exemplary records against all of them.

With his goal within reach and the promise made from his coach, The Body has hinted to a new contract with the Bavarian giants.

Due to Bayern helping him in his individual ventures, the Pole has hinted recently of his intention to sign an extension with Die Rotten. Therefore, Bayern fans can rejoice over the fact that their star striker will not leave the club any time soon.
