Thierry Henry is fed up with the ‘normalcy’ of abuse on social media sites. In light of the issue, Henry prepared a well-drafted statement and sent it post-haste to the twitter administrators.
In the last the Frenchman has dazzled fans with his skills on the ball, and now the Frenchman is looking to amaze them with his words. Thierry Henry spoke about the issue in light of the social media bashing that has become a trend.
According to Henry, a little ‘banter’ in the middle of the bashing results in racist slurs.
It is the concept of racism in social media apps that has put Henry at his breaking point. Therefore, he has decided to boycott all social media apps until the matter of online bullying and racism are dealt with.
On March 26th, 2021, Henry sent his response to racism on social media in light of the abusive languages used in recent posts. The statement read, “Tomorrow morning onwards, I will be deactivating all my social media accounts. They will stay deactivated until the people responsible at the organizations step up.”
“I wish to know what actions will be taken by the management for regulating racist posts in the future” said Henry.

Henry a victim of racial abuse
Theirry Henry has been a victim of racial abuse during his career as a footballer. It is difficult to imagine ‘King’ Henry receiving abuse, despite being a top player in the EPL. Even now, there young players who want to emulate Thierry in their playing style.
However, his talent could not give him a free pass due to the color of his skin. In an interview on September 14th, 2020, he said, “I still remember being spat at in an away game at Valencia while I was at Arsenal. I tried to tell the referee about it, and he ignored my claims.”
“Then later on, when I scored and stood stoically, they called me arrogant. The officials even said that I am disrespecting the game of football,” said Henry.
He further talked about racism in the US and said, “when I lived in the US, I liked to go for a run from time to time. Due to my skin color, the Americans who did not know who I was would look at me suspiciously. They even had me followed on many occasions.”
Thierry Henry recollects a memorable moment with Lionel Messi
Henry recounted an incident with Messi when the Argentine dribbled past the entire Barcelona team in training due to spite. Leo asked for a free-kick, and the coach refused to give him one, which then set the tale as mentioned earlier in motion. Thierry Henry recounts how he did the same in the school playground but lauded Messi for doing that and succeeding against an experienced group of players.
It is, therefore, fantastic to see that Henry has good memories like that to take away from his days in Europe and not just the horrible acts committed upon him.
