Liverpool will meet Arsenal for the fourteenth time (after Jurgen Klopp’s arrival) on April 4th, 2021. In light of the upcoming game, the Reds released a sneak peek at the Emirates Stadium’s away win.

The blast to the past highlighted the seven-goal thriller that happened on August 14th, 2016. During the game, Sadio Mane, Phillipe Coutinho, and Adam Lallana scored four goals to secure the win against the Gunners. The game became the foundation of Klopp’s dominance over Arsenal. Ever since then, Liverpool has scored thirty-three goals against the North London side.

There had been another factor in Mane who helped Anfield in their win against the Gunners. The Senegalese winger joined the Merseyside Reds on June 28th, 2016 and his impact on the Merseyside club became instantaneous.

Liverpool has since then recruited names like Mohamed Salah, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Virgil van Dijk, etc. The recruitment of these three players helped in establishing a solid team at Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has relished any opportunity to play against Arsenal due to the competitiveness that the Gunners have displayed in their encounters. Though the win has been in favor of the German, on most occasions.

The Reds-Gunners war story

Liverpool and Arsenal may not be rivals in the same way as Manchester United and Tottenham. But, they are a side who have clashed and created many memorable games in the two hundred and thirty-two games in that they have played against one another.

The first-ever game that they played against the Highbury side was on October 3rd, 1893. Ever since then, both these sides have met in battle on twenty occasions over a twenty-year time period.

The chemistry that the Anfield side had after their first-ever game against the Gunners was very strong. This chemistry has only strengthened in each and every game that he has played against them.

Time went by, and in 1992, both these sides made their first-ever entry into the Premier League. During the year of conception, both these sides possessed players of excellent caliber. Liverpool had names like Robbie Fowler, Ian Rush, and Jamie Redknapp, etc. While Arsenal had a squad filled with players like Ian Wright, Alan Smith, and Martin Keown, etc. After their debut game in 1992, they have played eighty-two times against the Gunners.

The current record of Liverpool against Arsenal

Jurgen Klopp has extended his win record of six games to three against Arsenal after the arrival of Arteta. However, he has failed to win the two games out of three that he played against the Spaniard and will increase that record soon enough.

Nevertheless, Liverpool finds themselves in a tricky situation, and their chances of securing a win are low. Thus, the Red is at a disadvantage while going into the game against Arsenal, as the Gunners have won and drawn two games out of the five they have played. Erling Haaland can be an advantage for them if they sign him.

Liverpool to meet Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola

The Red’s interest in the Norwegian striker is a well-known fact, and they have approached his agent Raiola to push a dream to Anfield. Liverpool will face a fight for him, though, with Raiola offering his client to many other teams, including Manchester City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid. Therefore, they need to convince the Norwegian and his agent that the KOP is the best place for him.
