Sergio Ramos Tested Positive for Covid-19, Confirms Real Madrid

In a rather unfortunate incident Sergio Ramos, the Real Madrid talisman tested positive for Covid-19 earlier today. His club Real Madrid has confirmed this through their official Twitter handle.

In the club’s official statement, they conveyed, “Real Madrid CF announces that our player Sergio Ramos has given a positive result in the last COVID-19 test that has been carried out.”

Ramos, who was already out of the games for a few weeks due to injury was looking for a comeback against Liverpool in the Champions League. The remarkable defender didn’t feature against the Merseyside Reds in the first leg of their CL tie.

In an astonishing event, Sergio also missed his third ever El-Clasico in his career at Real Madrid just two days back. And this is for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

This news will surely dishearten the Madridistas as they were all in hopes to see their Captain lead the team at Anfield. The Spanish star is now under home quarantine and hopes to recover from this and take the field as soon as possible.
