Pep Guardiola says “Dortmund are always a really good team” ahead of Man City’s UCL tie

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola praised his German opponent ahead of their UCL tie. In an interview, the Spaniard praised the German giants’ performance in the domestic as well as in the Champions League.

Guardiola, the former Bayern Munich coach faced arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund a significant amount of time during his time in Germany. Football experts believe the ‘Bald-Genius’ is accustomed to facing the German opponent at the highest levels.

The 50-year-old coach, in an interview with Sky Sports, conveyed, “It’s a privilege to be in the last eight. Dortmund are always a really good team.” The Cityzen coach further praised Dortmund’s young prodigy, Erling Haaland, saying he is one of the best players in the world right now at this age.

Pep, when asked about the prospect of following Dortmund before the UCL tie, he stated, “I didn’t see much this season because we don’t have time in England to watch other competitions, but in this international break, we’ll have time to see them.”

The Cityzens are believed to be favorites to win the tie, given their better performance rate lately. Subsequently, in football, anything can happen in the span of 90 minutes.

Man City are the current league leaders in EPL. The level of their performance improved significantly over the past few months and are one of the favorites to lift the prestigious continental trophy.

Dortmund however, saw a dip in their performance graph lately. The ‘bay-fow-bay’ are placed fifth in the league and only managed to win their last five matches in ten outings.

Man City under Pep managed the ticket of Quarter Final after getting past ‘Borussia’ Monchengladbach, it will be interesting to see how the English giants fare against the ‘Borussia’ Dortmund.
