Gareth Bale has rediscovered himself at Tottenham. Subsequently, the Real Madrid loanee displayed glimpses of his previous characteristics. One that he had possessed while leading the Madrid attack with Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. Consequently, the Welshman faced problems at Tottenham. At the beginning of his return to the Premier League, he struggled to communicate with his boss Jose Mourinho.

However, the thirty-one-year-old Welsh forward overcame his struggles. He started on his path after scoring a goal in the four to one win over Wolfsberger in the Europa League on February 18th, 2021. Bale went on to achieve five goals in five matches for the Lilywhites.

Bale will lead Tottenham by example says Michael Dawson

In light of his new form, his former team-mate Michael Dawson felt ecstatic. In an interview on March 13th, 2021, he said, “When Bale plays, he leads others by his example. It is just fascinating to see the way he is enjoying his game at Tottenham. At the moment, he is scoring and providing goals, and I feel there is more to come.”

Bale’s record at club and country level

Nevertheless, it is not the first time that Gaz is scoring for Tottenham. He has done it previously for them, before his move to Los Blancos on September 1st, 2013. The Welshman is a proven goalscorer, and he has performed as such for club and country. He has recorded a hundred and seventy-six goals at the club level and a hundred and thirty-six assists in three hundred and sixty-eight appearances over fifteen years. Moreover, he has recorded thirty-three goals and sixteen assists in eighty-eight national team appearances for Wales. The stats clearly state that Gareth Bale is a phenomenal player, and there is no doubt as to why Mourinho would sign him on loan for his dwindling side.

Following his performances, Tottenham would like to offer their veteran striker an extension to remain with them for another season.

Tottenham wishes to extent Gareth Bale stay at White Hart Lane

An extension for Bale will give Tottenham the depth they need to challenge for the title next season

A move back to Real Madrid would not be a wise decision for Gareth Bale since he has lost his place in the starting line-up to Eden Hazard and other Madrid youngsters. Hence he would prefer to remain at Tottenham, where he can teach players much younger than him about the importance of football values. His slow start to the current Premier League season is a testament to him not being at the level he once belonged to. In general, players in their thirties would prefer to mentor and assist younger stars. So that they can achieve fame and fortune. Bale could be witnessed mentoring young players like Steve Bergwijn, Sergio Regulion, and Tanguy Ndombele. His talk takes some pressure off the shoulder of Mourinho.

However, the damp reception that he received from Tottenham fans and Jose would make him doubt the offer of an extension. He knows what he can expect should his form drop again. Nevertheless, like Dawson mentioned, Gareth Bale is happy at Tottenham now, and that is what matters to him for now.
