Jurgen Klopp Still Mute to Give Any "Good News" for Virgil van Dijk for Euro Cup 2020

Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager stays silent about Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Henderson playing for their respective national squads in the upcoming Euro 2020.

Van Dijk is in a rehab process and still recovering from his injuries. However, Euro 2020 is about to begin on June 11 and it’s still unknown about the Netherlands’ skipper joining the national team.

Recently, the Reds’ boss reported that Virgil is still in rehab, recovering from his injuries. But the national squad thinks to call the center-back, then Klopp will not stop the Dutch. Therefore, the German manager claims to have no good news or bad news regarding the player to share at the moment.

Klopp stated about Van Dijk and Henderson, “If they are ready then they are ready. They are in a rehab process.

“I don’t know bad news or brilliant news.”

The Dutch defender is out of the Liverpool squad since the Merseyside derby in October 2020, where he received an ACL injury in his right knee. Later that month, Virgil underwent successful surgery and reported his absence for six to seven months.

Recently, Van Dijk is undergoing a rehab process along with Jordan Henderson in Annfield. The Reds’ captain suffered a hamstring injury in a reverse Merseyside in February 2021.

Both the footballers are considered as the best players in their respective country, thus they both might get a call to play in the upcoming Euro. However, both the players are not completely fit, and so they might also miss the tournament.

The Red’s boss also said on this topic that they are still recovering but if the national squad seems them fit then they should go and furthermore Klopp stated having no hands behind the decisions of the national squads of Netherlands and England.

“I don’t want to take a player away from England or Holland, if they’re ready, they’re ready. It’s not down to me to make these decisions,” reported Jurgen Klopp regarding Van Dijk and Henderson. “I have no idea about the Euros. Nothing has changed. They are where they should be at the moment.”

Liverpool is in seventh place on the Premier League table and will next face Arsenal prior to their quarterfinal’s face-off with Real Madrid on Wednesday, April 7. We might not see Van Dijk and Henderson in these upcoming matches of the Reds, but there is still hope for them to play in the Euro 2020.
