Arteta is having a dream run in the Premier League and the Europa League.
The Arsenal management, who have watched him closely, want to offer him an extension, as per reports coming out of the Emirates Stadium. The Spaniard was quick to respond to the stories. Subsequently, in an interview, Arteta said, “We have a lot going on, and it is not the biggest priority for me.”
Arteta says his contract extension is not a priority
Arteta has faced many problems this season, with his team unable to perform in certain games. Consequently, the thirty-eight-year-old is a great motivator and pushes the Gunners on the playing field and the training grounds. Arteta has declared his happiness at the North London club amid reports that he was having a tough time.
However, Arsenal has repaid the faith shown by their boss and was instrumental in securing wins against Leicester in the Premier League and Benefica in the Europa League round of 16.
Arteta has a tough run of games in the Premier League
Moreover, Gaz has a lot to fear from his team’s fixtures in the Premier League.
On March 6th, 2021, Mikel will travel away to the Turf Moor stadium to play Burnley. Arsenal under Arteta has played once against the Clarets, and the game concluded as a draw on February 2nd, 2020.
The North London Derby is their next hurdle, and a fit Harry Kane may look to hurt the Gunners. Although, Arteta can rest easy, knowing that since he joined arsenal has won twice and drawn once in the derby. Therefore the chances for the Gunners to secure a victory stands high.
Following the Burnley game, the Gunners will travel to the London Stadium to play West Ham on March 21st, 2021. Furthermore, the Gunners have an excellent record against the Hammers and will look to capitalize on it for a win. However, West Ham finds themselves at the fourth position of the league table. The reason behind their resurgence is Jesse Lingard, who has scored three goals in five matches and has provided an assist as well.
Arteta cannot afford to lose any of these games since his team is at the tenth position on the league table, and future losses will make them plummet further down. Hence, Arteta has to invoke his talent as a young manager and push his team to consecutive wins and climb the table to a more secure position (with Europa League football).
