“I’m with Zidane to the death” Ferland Mendy insists he is with Zidane all the the way

Zidane was respect a lot as a player and that respect has increased in his tenure as manager for Real Madrid. His players treat immense respect, and his authority is appreciated.

In recent weeks, Zidane has been under fire from the Real Madrid administration for his failure in retaining the La Liga top spot. Moreover, Atletico Madrid is on top of the table, and three points clear of their Madrid rivals. However, players from Los Blanco have re-asserted their support for Zidane. 


Mendy says he is with Zinedine till the end

In an interview with Spanish outlet Marca, Madrid star Ferland Mendy said, “I am with Zidane till the last moment. We do not care for the opinions of others“, on February 23rd, 2021. Furthermore, the Madrid player said, “The criticism that Zidane faces is daunting. The idea is to won games, but losing games is a part of football. There is no need to exaggerate the gravity of the situation.”

Madrid repaid their loyalty to Zidane by winning all their games in February. Consequently, their most recent win against Valladolid, on February 21st, 2021, granted them crucial points in the top spot race. 

However, Atletico Madrid has a game in hand and could extend their lead through a win at Villarreal on March 1st, 2021.

Zidane appreciates the consistency of his players

Zizou is appreciative of the skills and the consistency displayed by his players. In an interview with Eurosport on February 21st, 2021, he said, “My players were consistent throughout the game,” after their away game against Valladolid. Furthermore, Zidane said that “We have won in the past three fixtures. My side has not conceded even once in those games. They have been very dangerous, and that is interesting to see.”

Zidane knows the next few games that Los Merengues will be crucial in deciding who will be La Liga champions. 

Moreover, he knows that his side will produce better results in the coming weeks. Eden Hazard and Sergio Ramos’s return could be the catalyst that Zidane needs to boost their title’s chances.
